Rowan Tree Foundation to Screen Film for Grief Support Awareness Week - Parker, CO
The Parker Public Library is the site of a FREE screening of the movie Motherland on Wednesday, December 17th at 6:30pm. Rowan Tree Foundation is proud to be one of many grief support organizations from around the world who are Supporting Sponsors of this documentary's preview in support of Grief Awareness Week December 15-21. Motherland tells the story of six diverse American women that came together in December of 2006 to journey to rural South Africa as volunteers working with poor children. Strangers to each other before this journey, these women shared one life-changing experience in common: each had suffered the death of a child.
This event is being held as part of Grief Support Awareness Week December 15-21. Rowan Tree Foundation is a non-profit organization providing support to families that have suffered a prenatal or infant loss. During this very special week, we are honored to come together to recognize and comfort our friends, relatives and neighbors who are grieving, and to surround them with compassionate support during the holiday season – one of the most challenging times of the year for those who have lost a loved one.
There will be a brief introduction of the film by Corinne O'Flynn, RTF Executive Director, with the screening to begin at 7:00pm. Ms. O'Flynn is also the Founder of Rowan Tree Foundation, and has found offering support to families to be a large part of her healing, following the death of her infant daughter Rowan in December 1999, from complications of Trisomy 18.
This event is free and open to the public, light refreshments will be served. The movie will be shown in the large Meeting Room at the Parker Public Library, 10851 S Crossroads Drive, Parker, CO. For more information or to register online: www.rowantreefoundation.org, or call Corinne at 303-378-4300.
